Congregational Giving We are grateful to have you as part of our community here at St Albans Cathedral. Together, we continue the long tradition of supporting each other and continuing the Alban story. The Cathedral seeks to maintain and support a sense of spirituality, peace and tranquility in our city. We all have a responsibility for the care of our ancient building which holds such great meaning to so many. Congregational giving provides vital income which supports the everyday work and mission of the Cathedral. It keeps the place warm and well lit, contributes to the cost of our Clergy and enables our ministry to young and old alike. As members of our community, we ask: If you are a member of the congregation: affirm your commitment to our Cathedral community. Those who do not currently give regularly: please consider doing so. A regular contribution of £25 a month - or whatever level you can afford - would make a real difference. Current givers: please consider your current giving. Please increase your giving if you can. If all those currently giving increased their contribution by £10 per month, or 10%, whichever is larger, that would produce an increased income for the Cathedral of at least £3,000 per month. Giving through the Parish Giving Scheme is very easy. You can now set up, manage and amend your giving online or by calling 0333 002 1271. Your regular gift will come directly to the Cathedral. Please use Parish Code 320632001. Signing up to give regularly guarantees the Cathedral a reliable income which is more vital now than ever. If you have questions about your giving, please contact any member of Clergy or email the Congregational Giving Team. Give through the Parish Giving Scheme There are many ways in which the Cathedral supports other charities, including hosting special events and services, lighting up the Cathedral and through the voluntary work of many members of the community. We also give financial support to selected charities and social enterprises, in recognition that the Cathedral does not act alone, but in partnership with others. This ‘mission giving’ is aligned to the Cathedral’s mission priorities and complements other ways in which it supports and works with other charitable organisations. The funds come as a percentage of congregational giving, as well as the annual fireworks display, Christmas collections, Christian Aid Week and special collections for international disaster relief. We select recipients according to the Cathedral’s Mission Giving Policy. Mission Giving Policy Thank you to all those who support our mission. Manage Cookie Preferences
