The Christian faith has  inspired some of the English language's most remarkable poetry, combining arresting beauty and profound spiritual insights. This 5-week course invites you to explore the works of renowned poets across five centuries, including John Donne, George Herbert, Christina Rosetti, T.S. Eliot and Malcolm Guite.

The Rev'd Peter Godden | 

Peter is Team Vicar of St Dunstan's, Monks Risborough - a parish with the oldest recorded boundaries in England. He studied English Literature at St John's College, Durham, and during a recent sabbatical he continued his passion for both literature and theology by undertaking study of various literary figures, asking how their works can encourage, shape, or enlighten us in our life of faith, both individually and corporately.

This course is perfect for anyone eager to deepen their understanding of Christian poetry, whether you are a seasoned scholar or new to both the literary and spiritual themes explored in these works. It may be taken as part of the  St Albans Certificate in Theology and Certificate Plus, although you can also enjoy this course without submitting an essay for the Certificate.
