This extraordinary installation brings three monumental sperm whale sculptures into the cathedral, creating a powerful dialogue between nature, art, and architecture.
Crafted by British sculptor Tessa Campbell Fraser from recycled and sustainable materials, the whales evoke themes of interspecies communication, climate awareness, and the fragility of ocean life. Suspended inside of our nave, they invite visitors to reflect on humanity’s impact on the planet while celebrating the beauty and mystery of these magnificent creatures.
Alongside the exhibition, enjoy a packed programme of events for all ages - from music and wellness sessions to activity trails for kids, and even a Sea Shanty Festival! The events can be found below - don't be afraid to dip your toes in!
📅 General viewing from Thursday 1 January until Tuesday 3 February. Please note that on Sundays general viewing will be between 1pm-3pm only.
