The opening chapters of the Gospel of Luke contain stories not found anywhere else in the New Testament. In these four sessions, we will explore the annunciation and birth stories of John the Baptist and Jesus. We’ll read the famous songs of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis, and short sections of the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible, which provide intriguing parallels.

Join us to read and translate passages from the New Testament, with opportunities to discuss exegetical as well as linguistic issues. This group is best suited to those with intermediate level Ancient or New Testament Greek.
