The Cathedral Change Ringers were delighted that Rt Rev Dr Alan Smith, Bishop of St Albans was able to join them at practice this week. The team reports that Bishop Alan rang some very good Stedman & Grandsire Caters and some Cambridge Surprise Major. 

Jonathan Humbert commented,  "We were also delighted that four brand-new learners that we have been teaching in an intensive course this last week joined us at their first practice and capably rang some rounds on the front eight. These were their first blows in open ringing."

Dean Jo said, "We had an evening pilgrimage at the Cathedral happening at the same time as practice this week.  Everyone, from the Cathedral floor to the bell tower, had a great evening! The bell ringers are a key part of our Cathedral’s telling of the good news of Jesus Christ and they ring out ‘welcome’ across our city and district.  We are very grateful to the growing team.’"
