This week Dean Jo had the privilege of unveiling the most recent St Albans Blue Plaque at 40 Holywell Hill, which was the home of Margaret Wix and who was elected the first female Mayor of St Albans in 1924.  Dean Jo said, "As the first female Dean of St Albans it is a joy and a privilege to launch the newest St Albans Blue Plaque to remember an extraordinary woman".

In her address to those gathered on Holywell Hill, Dean Jo commented on Margaret’s service to the city and district including through her involvement at the Cathedral.  "She had particular compassion for those in most need," Dean Jo noted, "and I hope that all who see this Blue Plaque will be inspired by Margaret’s generous and caring service in our city where today many people continue to have significant need and need our caring response".
