The Cathedral was delighted to host the launch of the Lord Lieutenant for Hertfordshire’s #HertsTogether 2026. Under the banner of “One County, many voices, shared future”, this year seeks to bring communities together in new activities and events, and to celebrate and support existing initiatives that help us to get to know one another better and support all our flourishing. It reminds us that the strength of our communities is found in the compassion that we show one another.

Dean Jo said, “It was a joy to welcome people from across our county for the launch of the 2026 HertsTogether year. There were stalls with community-serving charities, faith groups, community agencies and leaders, all gathered together celebrating our unity and committing ourselves to serve the communities of Hertfordshire. I was delighted to spend time with many of the groups and to meet new groups including CHEXS, who support families in the community. A highlight was a performance from The Purple All Stars.”

St Albans Cathedral seeks to serve and support the flourishing of our communities every day, and we rejoice in and celebrate the diversity of our Diocese. We look forward in the autumn to our next Community Showcase, celebrating #HertsTogether.
