New Children and Families Minister welcomed On Sunday 8 February, our Youth Chaplain, Fr Jason Wratten, presented Elise Allanson to be commissioned by the Dean as our new Cathedral Children and Families Minister. It was a joyous All-Age Eucharist at which the Parish Choir and Junior Choir sang wonderfully, and Dean Jo reminded us, with actions for us all to be part of, that God loves us and asks to love the world. (Fr Jason Watten, Elise Allanson, Dean Jo Kelly-Moore) Fr Jason said "It was a pleasure to be able to present and support Elise as she was commissioned as children and families worker in Sunday’s service! She has already made a huge impression with our young people and other members of the youth team in the cathedral, and I look forward to working alongside her and developing our ministry with our young people and families. It was great to see the love and support she has from the congregation as she was commissioned - especially the children and all those who work with young people who stood up and joined us at the front!" “I’m so pleased to be the Children and Families worker for St Albans cathedral” Elise said. “I’m very excited to serve the children and families in this community. I’ve felt so welcomed by the team and can’t wait to grow and strengthen our ministry.” The Service was followed by sharing a welcome cake and Elise was presented with a crown by the children! St Albans Cathedral hosts many activities for children and young people throughout the week. You can find out more about them and participating here or by reaching out to us via email.
