New Chorister joins the Cathedral Choir during Albantide A joyful moment was celebrated at Choral Evensong on Saturday as Aurelia was formally admitted as the newest chorister at St Albans Cathedral. The admission, a special part of the Cathedral’s musical and spiritual life, marks the beginning of Aurelia’s journey in the choir, joining a tradition of young singers who lead worship through music week by week. The Revd Vanessa Jefferson said, "It was a joy to admit Aurelia as a full chorister of the Cathedral Choir and to formally welcome Aurelia and her family into the cathedral community. During admission choristers promise to sing with enthusiasm and devotion, we look forward to watching that enthusiasm through her chorister journey as she plays her part in leading our worship together" Director of Music, William Fox, added: "It was wonderful to welcome Aurelia into the Cathedral Choir and we look forward to seeing her grow as a musician over the coming years." Chorister life at St Albans offers a world-class music education, regular opportunities to sing in daily services, and a chance to be part of a supportive and inspiring team.
