Tonight (Sunday 8 December), St Albans Cathedral hosted one of The Royal Foundation's Together at Christmas Community Carol Services, supported by HRH The Princess of Wales.

The theme of empathy shaped the evening, as thanks were given for all who offer care in our communities, through their work, as a volunteer, or at home for family and friends. 

Readers included Caroline Allen from Rennie Grove Peace Hospice, Kelly McGovern from West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Stanley Redfern, St John Ambulance. Prayers were read by Sandra Blacker from Stand-by-me Bereavement Support, Becky Baird from The King's Fund, Vienna Unamba from the University of Hertfordshire and Caroline Lever, Lister Butterfly Volunteer Service.

Thank you to all those that braved the weather and joined us for a very special service.
