Welcoming Revd Jason Wratten & Roseanne Kinvig-Love A Warm Welcome for Our New Youth Chaplain and Children & Families Worker Sunday 15 June 2025 – Evensong Installation at St Albans Cathedral St Albans Cathedral was filled with joy and celebration on Sunday evening as we officially welcomed The Revd Jason Wratten into his new role as Youth Chaplain during a special Evensong service. The installation was a moving occasion, marked by worship, community, and a deep sense of purpose for the journey ahead. Revd Jason, joined by his wife Kayla and their children John and Echo, was surrounded by friends, family, and members of the congregation, as he was formally installed. Also present were friends and colleagues from his previous ministry in Jarrow, who made the long journey from the Northeast to support him and mark the beginning of this new chapter. Reflecting on the evening, Revd Jason said: “Last night's Installation service was excellent, and a wonderful welcome for Kayla, John, Echo, and me. It was great to be able to celebrate with faces old and new; both meeting those I will be working with in my new role and being supported by friends I worked with in Jarrow, who travelled all the way from the Northeast to be here and officially hand me over. I am excited to take up my new role as Youth Chaplain in St Albans Cathedral and to walk alongside the young people here on their journeys in faith.” As Youth Chaplain, Revd Jason will lead and nurture the Cathedral’s ministry with young people, helping to shape spaces where faith can grow, questions are welcomed, and community is built. The service also saw the commissioning of Roseanne Kinvig-Love as our new Children and Families Worker. Roseanne brings her passion, experience, and creativity to this vital ministry, and we are excited about the work she and Jason will do together to support and engage with children, youth, and families at the Cathedral. The day was followed by a drinks reception in the garden. A massive thank you to Banita Lal - photographer of the event and a member of our congregation here at the Cathedral. We give thanks for their calling and pray for God's blessing on their ministry in the months and years ahead. Manage Cookie Preferences
