Young adults commissioned after year of faith and discovery It was a joy for the Cathedral to host the Commissioning Service for participants in The Alban Way, marking the end of a year-long journey of faith and community for young adults across the Diocese. "a wonderful opportunity to explore faith with like-minded young people"- Jessica The Alban Way is a diocesan programme for 20–30 year olds who spend a year exploring spiritual practices while rooted in community life. Alongside work or study, participants meet regularly for evenings, weekends, and pilgrimages, deepening their faith and discovering more about prayer and God in everyday life. This year’s commissioning was particularly special for St Albans Cathedral, as Jessica Hughes, our Alban Intern, was among those completing the programme. Jessica said, "The Alban Way has been a wonderful opportunity to explore faith with like-minded young people. I hoped to meet others who shared my curiosity and faith journey — and I’ve found brilliant people and lasting friendships along the way.” Dean Jo said, "It is our joy and delight to support young people from across our Diocese who, each year, are part of The Alban Way. This year is particularly special for us with Jessica among the participants. The Alban Intern scheme, with its long history here, provides a great opportunity for young people to explore faith, vocation, and service. Please pray for Jessica, and for all those graduating this year, as well as those preparing to be part of the 2026 Alban Way groups." 👉 Find out more about The Alban Way and the Cathedral’s Alban Intern Scheme:The Alban Way Alban Interns Manage Cookie Preferences
