Summer Organ Festival | 13 - 27 July

A celebration of the organ in all its colour, power, and beauty

The Summer Organ Festival is an evening recital series showcasing the Cathedral’s world‑class organ and the musicians who play it. Presented in an informal and welcoming atmosphere, the festival invites audiences to experience the instrument in a wide‑ranging programme that reflects its remarkable scale, clarity and expressive range.

Each recital is given by one of the Cathedral’s resident musicians: William Fox, Director of Music; Dewi Rees, Assistant Director of Music; and Conor McGlone, Organ Scholar. Their programmes draw on a broad repertoire, combining well‑known works with lesser‑heard music and demonstrating the organ’s ability to move seamlessly from quiet intimacy to thrilling power.

Designed for both first‑time listeners and seasoned enthusiasts, the Summer Organ Festival offers a chance to hear outstanding musicianship in an inspiring historic setting, and to encounter the Cathedral Organ as a living, versatile instrument at the heart of today’s musical life.

Each recital begins at 6.30pm  on a consecutive Monday, in the following order.
